You have to be able to say "No" or at least a stern, "Not Right Now."
With things moving so fast or seeming that way, it allows us to make rash decisions . It also gives us the ability to blame this quick-moving machine of life for having to make this decision so quickly. "I had to do it!"
I had to do it too. But when I look back, I could have decided against some things in the same, knee-jerk manner.
When it comes to career choice and growth, it is tougher to get out of a situation once you have signed on the dotted line. Take time out to think things over before committing to them.
"It doesn't feel right and you know it." Is what I say to myself when I get to wrapped up into something that is seemingly "perfect" or "convenient". However, in the past, I jumped on board plenty of times for plenty of different reasons. In the end, for whatever reason, I started feeling more regretful as the days past.
How do you walk away from this "great job"? How do you decline this wonderful job offer? How do you leave, now, without burning yet another bridge? I'll tell you how....don't do it in the beginning and the end won't look so grim.
Don't worry about anything because it will be okay. I pray that you will have the wisdom to know the difference between what's RIGHT for you and what just sounds good "RIGHT NOW".
The great serenity prayer...
