http://www.oprah.com/oprahs-lifeclass/oprahs-lifeclass.html First let me just say that I am a huge Tony Robbins follower. His words build and heal. He is truly worth a listen. He is not into cuddling you but he will challenge you and you will grow. So, last night it was about fear and the story you tell yourself and how that story either empowers you or doesn't. What's your story? I'm Gail (very much like Gail). Gail was a mother of three who felt a void in her life because her failed business and career aspirations. She complained that although she loves her family, she is just not fulfilled. Tony basically told her to get over herself. Her issues is that she was trying to please her dad. Mine was trying to take care of myself because my daddy didn't. Same result: wanting a powerful career to prove a point and discounting everything else (wonderful kids, good friends, great relationship, etc,...) Shocking but true. My career is very much still important to me but I had to refocus on my motive and my method. What's your story? (You saga, excuses, etc,..) What's your motive? (The reason why you want it) What's your method? (The mental, physical and emotional ways you are attempting to get what you want) We can get cloudy on out "search". Let's face that fact that it can get down right foggy. Your life changes and you don't know what is going on with you. Still, you want work that you love and that you are excited about. So, ask someone. One thing about being "inside" of you, you only know what you know so you will get the same answers to the same questions that you keep asking yourself.
You: Hey, what do you think I am good at? Trusted individual: Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah and Stuff. Your great. That is a sample conversation :) Choose people who know you. It doesn't have to be family members but ask someone that knows you intimately: siblings, parents, your bff, your spouse, and coworkers. If you can get 3 people that is good, 5 would be great. For bravehearts only: Ask only 3 or the most honest person/people what they think is holding you back in your success journey. The only reason why I say people who are honest because you need honesty, not a "YOU ARE PERFECT" party. That's very unproductive. Try it....you'll see that you don't truly see ALL that you are or are capable of. |
Hey You!!!!It's about meaningful work that means something to YOU. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,
